Photos as promised ....

Hello Troops,

Here are some of the photos I promised the last post.  Some are of 3rd squad, 1st platoon of Able Company.  The other photo(s) are of the rat Skaven of Mordheim.  Just to let you know .... Hein, I took your advice and hit the bases with the same color of my basing to help hide the black primer at the feet ;)

I would also like to offer a hello to the new troops. Mistress of Minis, Pnakotic, Galpy, Duck Sauce, Shelexie and Lydia.  I hope you enjoy my random muttering and rambles about our hobby we share.

What is the order of battle General ?  Good question and simple enough.  I have 1st Platoon almost complete ... so 1st squad of 2nd Platoon will be next.  I will have them cleaned up and on popiscle sticks soon.  Black primer is in store of the next course of action.  I need to get moving on them since Guns of August is around the corner and I am looking to possibly entering.  Steve, you need a car pooler ?

I am also GM'ing a Star Wars RPG mission this Sunday.  Check out Planet's Doom to see the weekly antics of the members.  The group (Steve, Lydia and Sean) are getting better at the rules, as well as myself.  It's been fun and great to get back into it .....

I also plan on getting a recon platoon and an antitank platoon for support of the 327th.  Rob over at FTW Games will be getting that business in the near future.

Enjoy the pics, sound off if you need anything.

Moving ...

Hello Troops,

The family was still asleep this morning which allowed me to get some quiet paint time in.  It also helped that my batteries were dead and needed recharging for the XBOX 360 (the arch nemesis of the painting time).

Radio Rivendell was on and producing motivated music, paint was flying.  I was able to get 2 colors on the 3rd squad of Glider troops.  I also was alternating between a shaven henchman I had based.  Both painting subjects had similar paint colors so I was hitting one while paint dried on the other subject.

Brief post ... I am about to hit up an errand for the spouse.  Got to keep the family happy on the home front.

Some WIP photos soon ... maybe later today.

Mordeim

Hello Troops,

Recently (as we all do in this wonderful hobby of ours) I have been reading up on Mordheim by GW.  Designed around the warbands of the fantasy world of Warhammer, it is a smaller scale of battle.  Usually ranging between 3 to 20 troops, depending on your choice of weapons/factions and options.

I have recently looked into either a Pirate Warband or Lizardmen Warband. Either way its a distraction from completeing my FOW Glider troops. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHH!

My friend Steve is watching my back and I am sure he will steer me back to FOW painting ..... lol

Anyone have any experience with this system ? Ring out if you do ....

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Greetings troops,

I thought I would post a hello to the new game store in the Richmond area.  FTW Games.

My friend Steve (What Would Patton Do?), his wife Lydia and I went to the store on Tuesday to check out the step up and layout, gaming area and overall atmosphere of the store.

Parking ? Not a problem with the location in the village shopping mall of Midlothian.  That in itself is a great feature since numerous game stores have minor parking issues.

Food ? Not a problem since Mickey D's is in the same complex.  Rob also has a small microwave for snacks and a good selection of gaming food to supply the troops as well.

Selection of gaming topics ? Very nice ..... Games Workshop - all types, Flames of War, Warmachine are some of the choices.

Look for more on the shop in the next couple of weeks ..... !

All in Good time ...

Greetings Troops,

June is here ... and with that the heat and humidity of Virginia is well upon us as well.  Things are slowely getting into a decent pace for the summertime.

My family and I attended the Barenaked Ladies concert the other night and had a blast !  Old favorites and songs from the new album were played.  I have been a fan of theirs for a long long time and was so happy to finally see them in concert.  It was a great night.

The next morning I attended my National Registry of Emergency Technicians Intermediate (Paramedic) practical and passed in the first wave.  It was a long day but I was happy to have that completed.  I have to complete the written portion still.

I finally found my digital camera ! It was MIA for some time till a search party found it ....

With that noted .... I present 2nd squad, 1st platoon of Able company.

Last night I was the GM for a Star Wars RPG game which included Steve, of What Would Patton do? fame, his wife Lydia, of Iron Lydia fame and Sean, of the Kneel B4 Blog fame.  It was the initial character forming and fleshing out of rules but it was fun.  Hit my blog, Planet's Doom for the in game read coming soon.

I also primed a Wild West character for our Legends of the Old West games.  I can't wait to get him painted and moving on the streets.

I hope all is well in your foxholes ....... sound off if you need anything.

Any suggestions

Hello troops,

I was out in the garden today and noticed that my tomato plants are HUGE ! The are falling over and out of the metal rings I used when I first planted them.

My question to the readers is .....

" How do you keep your tomato plants under control ? "

Let me know what you do or think can be done .....
